Early in the 1990s Debbie Kish noticed there were few daycare options available for parents in Broadview Heights. Already employed as an Assistant Administrator at a daycare center, Debbie envisioned a facility that was warm, nurturing, and treated children like family members. On November 4, 1991, Debbie founded Bright Beginner's in a 4,000 square foot location, and became so successful that the center quickly grew to 11,000 square feet in size. We met with Debbie recently, and listened as she provided this overview of her center's offerings;

Bright Beginner's is a year 'round facility offering childcare for children six weeks old and up, preschool for children between three and five years of age, and before and after care for those from kindergarten through the third grade. We are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for our parents' convenience, and transportation for our before and after care program is provided by the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School System. Our staff is highly trained and truly dedicated to the children in our care.

Our preschool is available on a two to five day per week basis from 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m. We are in constant touch with the local school systems to ensure our programs match their expectations, and we evaluate each child's progress twice per year. The children not only receive classroom instruction, they also enjoy many activities and play time. We have a large, indoor play area available to them when it is too cold or wet to play outside. Children enrolled in our daycare attend our preschool program at no additional cost.

We strive to offer many extra programs designed to help alleviate the schedules of busy parents. We offer dance classes with a recital at the end of the year and we take the children to Gymnastics World on Fridays. We also have a computer program that comes in each week, in addition to the Soccer Shots program.

Bright Beginner's provides the children with a morning and an afternoon snack, and we provide the beverages for lunch. Parents supply the lunches for their own children and we are always willing to heat-up the food they have sent.

Many of our parents have come to us as referrals from parents whose children were in our care in the past. This strong word-of-mouth advertising has been instrumental to our growth throughout the past sixteen years.
