Professionalism, Integrity, and Dignity

After a twenty year career in sales and marketing, Ann Harrington Mars was introduced to a gentleman interested in starting a collection agency. Derek Wooten, a former math teacher and track coach of the Cleveland School System, had extensive experience in the collection industry. She was delighted to discover they shared the same ideas of how a business should be run, the cooperative treatment debtors should expect from a collection agency, and the type of reputation they wanted to build. Combining his experience with her background in customer service, Ann founded Abrams, Russo & Harrington in September 2003. We met recently with Ann, President Derek Wooten, and Office Manager and Para-Legal Maureen Tilly, and listened as they outlined the services Abrams, Russo & Harrington provides;

Abrams, Russo & Harrington is a commercial and consumer collection agency, specializing in legal recovery. We take an immense amount of pride in our ability to maintain a good relationship between our customers and their clients, striving to create an atmosphere conducive to maintaining an ongoing business relationship between the two parties once the financial issues are resolved. We often receive letters thanking us for the graceful manner with which the collection process took place. Our customers range from medical professionals to Fortune 500 companies. We're a small company serving the small to large business community.

Legal recovery is our area of specialization. Unlike most collection agencies, we have a lawyer on staff to quickly and efficiently provide assistance with legal issues we may encounter. We work with those who have been awarded a judgment in small claims court and don't know how to proceed in collecting a debt, or have a debtor who has the assets to pay but still refuses to honor their obligation to our client. We will walk their case through the court system until we get a judgment, and then execute on the judgment until the debt is satisfied.

We're in a highly regulated industry and must abide by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a United States statute added as Title VIII of the Consumer Credit Protection Act. We're charged with maintaining a debtor's privacy by not discussing their obligations with third parties, in addition to cultivating a relationship built on mutual respect while collecting debts incurred for personal, family, or household purposes. We've built our business on integrity, professionalism, and ensuring that we always enable the debtors to resolve the issue with their dignity intact.

It doesn't cost anything to place an account with us for collection. Our firm works on a 100% contingency basis. If our client is not paid, we don't get paid.

Abrams, Russo & Harrington brings integrity and a high degree of professionalism to the collection efforts of the business community. Call Abrams, Russo & Harrington today, and don't forget to tell them The Advocate sent you!
